My Game Design Vision
I want to make delightful games.
I struggle with how to describe this vision because “delightful” is obviously subjective. The best I’m able to do is give examples. I’m delighted when a game makes me smile and when it makes me laugh. I’m delighted when a game unexpectedly makes me go “awwww.” I’m delighted when there’s the perfect alignment of a mechanic, component, and theme that it just feels like it couldn’t be any other way. I’m delighted when a “lightweight” theme fits perfectly onto a heavier-weight game. I’m delighted when a game takes me through a story. I revel in moments of delight and games that weave those delightful moments together into a complex tapestry.
I seek to make games that delight me. I hope they might delight you too.
